Knotty Alder has the strength of maple and the personality of pine. The surface of the cabinets has a distressed complexion, giving a rustic look. The wood has a reddish color, with light brown to yellow to peach color hues. Stains can further highlight the beautiful grain. Alder's color, structure, softness, resistance to shrinkage and swelling make it perfect for cabinets. The open, solid knots give Alder a more informal presence. There will be random knots throughout the material some small and tight others larger, but there will be no open knots. |

| Natural Knotty Alder is just that – natural and knotty! The face frame and doors of the Natural Alder are lightly coated with a catalyzed lacquer. | The face frame and doors of the Glazed Alder are finished with a medium brown glaze. The glaze effect shows light and dark contrasts throughout the visible portions of the cabinet. | The face frame and doors of the Dark Alder Stain are finished with a dark brown stain. The center panel corners are also bevel sanded with black stain providing an extra distressed look. | ||||||
